Notebooks Drive - Academic Year 2012 - 2013 ( Part-1)

On 9 June, the Vedic Foundation started their notebooks drive in Govt. Lower Primary Schools and this first part of the drive lasts throughout June and August 2012.

Many of the children in these schools come from very poor families who are not able to provide notebooks, stationary items and other learning materials for their children.  This notebooks drive is raising money to purchase these items and give to the children and the schools.

It is important to cultivate good learning values in these young minds, as it will assist them with their growth and development throughout their whole lives. With these learning materials, the children's excitement and interest to learn is increased.

We have been distributing these notebooks to children in  Kolar District, Bangarpet Taluk, Karnataka State schools. The drive will be conducted in two parts; the first one is presently being done and the second one during mid-term, after November.

Most of the students in these schools come from families that make their living as day laborers or farmers, though the students come from very poor backgrounds, it has in no way deterred their enthusiasm to learn!

The drive was possible due to the response of donations and help from the community and friends of Vedic Foundation.  We were able to raise around 20,000 Rs.
This first part of the notebooks drive covered 10 schools and reached out to approximately 450 children.

The second part of the drive will be conducted after November, and people who are interested are welcome to participate.

Those who are interested to sponsor students kit or help us with the distribution can send an email to
The cost per student kit for class 1 to 3 is Rs.100
